Overview
Allied Medical and Technical Institute offers career-oriented education programs that prepare students for work in a number of quickly growing industries and fields. The school has locations in Forty Fort and historic downtown Scranton, Pennsylvania. Some of the offered programs include Business Administration, Dental Assistant, Criminal Justice, Massage Therapist, Paralegal and Pharmacy Technician. Programs are suited for first-time college students as well as for adult learners.

This program prepares students with the skills necessary to work in a variety of healthcare settings. A combination of theory and hands-on experience, in addition to a ten-week externship ensure that students are prepared to work as Specialized Technicians in Medical Assistant Technology. - Business Administration/AccountingBusiness Administration/Accounting
This program is intended for students who want to work in the quickly-growing field of Accounting. Students also receive a solid foundation in business and computer applications. - Criminal JusticeCriminal Justice
The Criminal Justice program is offered at the Forty Fort campus, and students take courses to learn how to manage trends, criminal aspects and societal issues related to both the public and private sectors. Students learn about computer technologies, communication techniques and multicultural/juvenile issues. - Dental AssistantDental Assistant
The Dental Assistant diploma program is intended for students interested in entry-level dental assistant positions which allow them to assist the dentist chairside. The program prepares students to work in the operating or treatment room with the dentist. The program also prepares students in the various administrative and clerical procedures required, including word processing, managing files and records, scheduling appointments and handling other front office duties. - Dental Office CoordinatorDental Office Coordinator
The Dental Office Coordinator program is a diploma program. It is intended for students interested in entry level front office responsibilities in a dental office. Students take course in how to handle tasks such as inventory, inventory control, purchasing, word processing, managing files and records and scheduling appointments. - Digital Graphic and Multimedia DesignDigital Graphic and Multimedia Design
This program can show students how to design and create web sites and effective layouts and illustrations using advanced industry software. - ECG/Phlebotomy/Lab AssistantECG/Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant
Graduates of the ECG/Phlebotomy/Lab Assistant program are prepared with the necessary skills and knowledge the need to work in hospital environments. Students take a wide range of courses to learn how to assist physicians and how to interact with patients. Some of the skills acquired include drawing blood and obtaining 12 lead ECG tracings. - Electrical TradesElectrical Trades
This program trains students to be residential, commercial or industrial technicians. Fully trained graduates of the Electrical Trades program will have learned about topics including conduit bending, motors and controls, electrical schematic interpreting and troubleshooting techniques. - Expanded Function Dental AssistantExpanded Function Dental Assistant
The Expanded Function Dental Assistant [EFDA] diploma program prepares students for entry-level jobs as dental assistants. Students take courses to learn about dental restorations and how to assist the dentist chairside. - Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and RefrigerationHeating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration
This program is intended specifically for students who have no prior experience or training in any of the climate control disciplines. Upon graduation, students are prepared to take the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification test. - Massage TherapistMassage Therapist
Graduates of Allied Medical's Massage Therapist program are licensed as Massage Therapists, and they are prepared to sit for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork examination. This program trains students in areas including anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Hands-on training is also included. - Medical AssistantMedical Assistant
The Medical Assistant program prepares students for entry-level jobs in one of the fastest growing career areas. Students take courses to learn how to work in labs, assist physicians with patient care and perform administrative skills involving billing, coding and bookkeeping. - Medical Transcriptionist/Insurance Billing SpecialistMedical Transcriptionist/Insurance Billing Specialist
In this program, students are trained to work in a growing and expanding field. Students take courses to learn how to accurately report physicians' findings as well as document all treatments and diagnoses. Students who pursue the Insurance Billing Specialist program learn how to ensure that procedures are correctly covered through insurance claims. - ParalegalParalegal
The Paralegal program prepares students for a career as a paralegal in the legal system. Students take courses in legal terminology as well as in the practices of civil, family, criminal, bankruptcy, and estate law.
